IBEF 2018: Strengthening Indonesia’s Economy through Millennial Entrepreneurs as the Game Changer

The Swiss German University Student Business Association (SBA) and Business Administration Study Program held the International Business Entrepreneurship Festival (IBEF) 2018 on 24-25 November 2018. This 8 th IBEF took place at the Glasshouse, Living World Mall, Alam Sutera Tangerang with the theme of “Strengthening Indonesia’s Economy Through Millennial Entrepreneurs as the Game Changer:”

IBEF is an annual event as part of SGU responsibility and concern to develop entrepreneurship in Indonesia especially the millennial entrepreneur because of their challenge to create innovative product in ever changing market, is bigger than ever before. This year, 5 local startups participated in IBEF to exhibit and also to present their product to wide audience and also to their potential costumer. These 5 local startups are newly established company build by 5 th semester students of SGU IBA study program. They start their brand establishment since their 3 rd semester and finally create 5 brands named AYE, 4 Stripe, KOKU, Easy Travel, and Hanzimmer.

IBEF 2018 was opened by the Deputy Head of Business Administration Study Program – Moch. Riyadh Rizky Adam, S.T, M.S.M., and then followed by a speech from the President of IBEF 2018, Jocelyn Arihta. There were several activities conducted during the two-days event. All participants had the opportunity to introduce their product by having product presentation and exhibition. There were also business talk shows by CEO of Vie for Living, CEO of Bits and Bobs, CEO of PT. Citra Global Ekspresindo, CEO of Lekker Wheeler Foodtruck, CEO of PT. Inovasi Telematika Nusantara, Managing Director of PT. Acero Karya Abadi, and Head of Digital Business and Client Service Department of PT. Mandiri Investasi.

At the end of this event, there are awarding night and also several music performances. In the awarding session, KOKU won as the Best Creative Booth. For the Best Business Plan Competition, Hanzimmer was announced to be the 1 st winner, KOKU as the 2 nd winner and AYE as the 3 rd winner. Closing this event, Biancadimas and NSBETM gave their best live performance on stage.

Hopefully, all of the established startups in IBEF 2018 can sustain their business and more millennials entrepreneur can contribute to Indonesia’s economic growth.
