Human beings keep innovating continuously to obtain a better life by creating inventions that can produce something that is effective and efficient. These days, the world is experiencing disruptions marked by indicators: simpler (easier), cheaper (cost less), accessible (more affordable), and faster. In the business world, fundamental changes occur in all spectrums. “ADAPT OR DIE! Those who do not adapt will be in trouble. The more rapid the changes pace, the more dangerous the impacts of stubbornly taking the old ways and old perspective,” she said.

Dr. rer. nat. Filiana Santoso added that higher education as the provider of human capital for the industry must adjust themselves to meet the competency needs of Industry 4.0. Digital transformation is a must, because it connects technology specialists across all sectors and fields in order to meet business needs and market requirements. It builds innovation and high-tech know-how to assist business initiatives or to upgrade technology for future growth.

“SGU has also participated in education for empowering communities globally. By lifting up individuals within communities, SGU encourages and supports sustainable community and economic development,” she added.

Good quality of education and research will generate technology, innovation and entrepreneurship which will eventually improve quality of life and the prosperity of societies, nations and the world as a whole.
