Ways to Simply Save The World

Ways to Simply Save The World

The earth is warming dangerously as this current period of warming is occurring more rapidly than any past events. Climate change involves not only rising temperatures, but also extreme weather events, rising sea levels, shifting wildlife populations and habitats, and a range of other impacts. Climate change threatens the safety of billions of people on this planet. The most obvious example is through extreme weather-related events, such as storms, floods and wildfires.

“We are humans who want the same thing every other human wants — a safe place to live on this planet we call home. We are raising our voices, adding to the clear message that climate change is real and humans are responsible, the impacts are serious and we must act now.” Katharine Hayhoe, Climate Scientist on a talk.

As Khatrine said, climate change is real and humans are responsible to fix it as humans emissions and activities have caused around 100% of the warming observed since 1950. Every act we do today will deeply affect the future of the Earth. In this article we will find out there ways to simply save our home.

  1. Don’t Waste Your Waste

The impact of plastic pollution on oceans is becoming increasingly clear, and having drastic impacts on marine life. So it is important to recycling what we use into something more valuable. This could be reusing a jam jar as a candle holder, or using old tins as plant pots – the possibilities are endless!

It is not just about the plastic, it’s also the product that we produced such as food. No more waste your food. Start by eating up leftovers and use any ingredients you have spare to make interesting meals. Try to waste as little food as possible, and compost the organic waste you can’t eat.

  1. Save Water

Water is most important necessity of life for all the living beings on the earth. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean. Without water no one can exist even for a day. We also know that there is very less percentage of clean water means drinking water available on the earth. So, we should not waste clean water and save it for future generations.

There are a few simple things you can do at home to ease the burden on your local water supply and save money in the process. You can only run the washing machine and dishwasher when you have a full load, or maybe plant a rain garden for catching stormwater runoff from your roof, driveway, and other hard surfaces

When you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance and value of our natural resources. You can study Sustainable Energy and Environment in Indonesia in order to contribute saving the earth. You will also have an impact on society. SGU prepares young generations to face the world’s challenges in terms of sustainability through the Sustainable Energy and Environment study program, under the Chemical Engineering Department. SGU Sustainable Energy and Environment is the first and the only university in Indonesia offering a double degree program. You can get a sarjana degree from Indonesia, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Germany.

Sustainable Energy and Environment in SGU is the first study program in Indonesia that focuses on both the sustainable energy and the environment fields. You will have the opportunity to receive a Dual Degree by having a 1 (one) study semester at SGU’s partner university in Germany and also the opportunity of doing practical work (internship) locally and overseas that will provide you with an extra edge in the job market

Every year SGU Sustainable Energy and Environment fly students to Germany. In semester 5 you will learn about aspects of the Environment at our partner the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena-University of Applied Sciences campus. Then in semester 6, you will conduct an internship program in Germany for one semester for the field of new renewable energy and the environment.

Here are some lectures that you’ll learn In the Sustainable Energy and Environment program:

  • Basic Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Math)
  • Chemical Engineering Principles
  • New and Renewable Energy: Solar, Wind, Hydro, Hydrogen, Bio Energy
  • Energy Management
