Swiss German University Mechatronics Engineering Exhibition on Genuino Day 2016
On the 2nd of April 2016, the students from mechatronics engineering were invited to hold an exhibition on Genuino Day 2016 in @america, Pacific Place Mall Jakarta. Genuino Day 2016 is the anniversary celebration of Arduino microcontroller open source community worldwide. In Jakarta, this event is hosted by the Arduino Indonesia community and Indonesia Robotics community with exhibitors from various communities.
In this event the team from SGU brought five projects ranging from course projects to bachelor thesis: radio controlled quadcopter by Sandy Kurniawan Boentoro from semester 8, Line follower robot controlled by an android device by Tommy Renaldo and Livia from semester 8 and 4, Traffic light simulation using firmata serial communication by Albert and Felicia Kristy from semester 2, Kora-kora miniature as a past thesis project presented by Ezra Clement and Feraldo from semester 4, and Gesture controlled mobile robot as a project from Sebastian Suwisar S.T., B.Eng, an alumni, and also a Lecturer Assistant in SGU. Visitors for this event varied from public visitors to microcontroller and robot enthusiasts.

In parallel with the exhibition, there was also a “Show and Tell” session, in which interesting projects were presented to the audience. From SGU, the highlighted project was the Gesture controlled mobile robot which evoked the interest of the audiences during the presentation.
From this event, the participants were not only excited, but they were also exposed to the world of microcontrollers and how they are capable of building robots and automated systems. The outcome of this event is that students from SGU improved their knowledge by sharing information, broadening their network and practicing their public speaking skills in delivering the information about their own projects.
