SGU Excursion to Bio Farma
On the 3rd of November 2016, students of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Departments, accompanied by their lecturers, visited PT. Bio Farma, a leading, global vaccine production and distribution company, located in Pasteur, Bandung. The students arrived at PT. Bio Farma at 9 a.m., and were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Nadia Puspa from Corporate Communications, and Mr. Amir from Research and Development. They began with a short company profile and presentation of PT. Bio Farma's role as a producer and distributor of human vaccines and how these vaccines are produced. After that, a small group of students were given a tour around the Research and Development department followed by a short company tour. They were also given a guided tour of the Biofarma Museum, where they were shown the history of PT. Bio Farma's production and their milestone achievements from 1890 until 2016.
Pharmaceutical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Departments' students and lecturers visited PT. Abadi Nusa (ABN) in Padalarang on the 3rd of November 2016. They were greeted by Mrs. Sandra, the company's General Manager. Mrs. Sandra started by giving a brief company profile, explaining the role of ABN as a producer as well as a distributor of sphygmomanometer parts and non-mercury sphygmomanometers used in hospitals. The students were then given a tour around the factory complex, where they were shown the production line; from the arrival of raw materials, production and assembly, to the Quality Control Department.
