Faculty of Business and Communication Visited PT. Haldin Pacific Semesta
On Wednesday, 13 March 2019, 2 of 3 bachelor study programs of the Faculty of Business and Communication completed an excursion program to PT. Haldin Pacific Semesta in Cibitung, Bekasi. The excursion was carried out by one of the alumni of the Business Administration study program. PT. Haldin Pacific Semesta is an industry that is engaged in processing raw materials into ready-to-use raw materials through the provision of added value to a raw material. PT. Haldin has products in the form of essences, extracts, concentrates, and high-quality powder drying products. Products of PT. Haldin can be divided into 8 categories, namely: (1) Tea & Coffee; (2) Functional Ingredients; (3) Essential Oil; (4) Cocoa & Vanilla; (5) Honey & Coconut; (6) Fruit & Vegetable; (7) Seasoning Ingredients; and (8) Cosmetic & Care Ingredients. The main tools used for the production process include a spinning cone column, spray dryer, distillation apparatus, and an extractor.
This event was opened with a welcoming speech from the Commercial Director PT. Haldin, Mr. Andry and continue with a representative of the Quality Assurance team to brief us about Safety Induction before we went on the factory and laboratories tour. Firstly, we were divided into 4 groups and each group was guided by one staff member from PT. Haldin for a tour. During the factory and laboratories tour, the groups were invited to see the shape, feel the aroma, and even taste the flavor of the essential products, extracts and powders produced by PT. Haldin, including tea, coffee, spices, essential oils, chocolate, vanilla, honey, coconut, powder of various fruits and vegetables, through to the products of PT. Haldin which are applied to skincare and body care products. We were also treated with espresso coffee and coco drinks as applications for coconut and coffee products from PT. Haldin.
After the tour, students were given the opportunity to discuss and conduct a question and answer session with representatives of PT. Haldin, which proved to be fun and valuable. Students were also asked for advice on the development of PT Haldin’s business. The visit was ended with souvenir distribution for each party and a photo session.
