SGU’s Mechatronics Students Came Out as the 1st and 2nd Winners at Maranatha Automation Championship 2018
Swiss German University’s students once again achieved high in a national level competition. On 9-10 November 2018, 2 (two) teams from Mechatronics department won 1st and 2nd places during the Maranatha Automation Championship 2018 held by the Electrical Engineering Student Association of Maranatha University, Bandung.
The first team who won the first place were consisted of Felicia Kristy and Steven Jonathan. While for the second winner, the team were consisted of Michael Jonathan and Marcellius Jevin. During the competition, the 2 (two) teams were guided by Mechatronics lecturer, Mr. Benny Widjaja, M.T. to become the first and second winners competing with 46 other teams from 16 universities throughout Indonesia.
The participants of this competition were challenged to solve problems and simulations around Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), a series used to automate industrial processes such as monitoring and controlling machines on a factory’s assembly line. PLC itself is one part of the material that must be mastered as a Mechatronics student.
Congratulations to the winning teams! Hopefully, this achievement will motivate all students to achieve more in the future.
