SGU Hosts School Engagement Program and IoT Workshop for IPEKA Balikpapan Students
Thursday, November 2, 2023 – An engaging School Engagement Program took place at the SGU campus today, welcoming 50 students from grades 10 to 12 of IPEKA Christian School in Balikpapan. The event included a comprehensive campus tour, allowing the students to explore the vibrant academic environment at SGU.
In addition to the campus tour, the students were treated to an enlightening workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) organized by the Mechatronics Engineering program. The workshop, conducted by Getrich Malvern Tannaka, provided valuable insights into the world of IoT, showcasing its applications and technological advancements. The interactive session encouraged active participation, allowing the students to delve into the fascinating realm of IoT technology.
The program was further enriched with a warm welcome address from Mr. Maulahikmah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT). His speech emphasized the importance of innovation, technology, and academic exploration in today’s fast-paced world. The students were inspired by his words, gaining valuable perspectives on their educational journey.
This initiative not only provided the visiting students with an immersive experience of university life but also highlighted SGU’s commitment to fostering meaningful connections with local schools.
