SGU Hosts Farewell Event for Students Heading to EAH Jena and HS Albstadt-Sigmaringen

On Friday, September 6, 2024, Swiss German University (SGU) held a special farewell event via Zoom for students who will soon continue their studies at Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule (EAH) Jena and Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen in Germany.

The virtual event was attended by several prominent figures, including SGU Rector Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, Prof. Dr. Stefan Suetterlin, Foreign Representative from the Faculty of Informatics at Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen, and Bianca Mohr, representative from the International Office of EAH Jena.

Each of the speakers delivered opening remarks, providing advice, encouragement, and inspiration to the SGU students embarking on their international academic journey.

Dr. Samuel emphasized the importance of embracing new opportunities, while Prof. Suetterlin and Ms. Mohr shared insights into what awaits the students in Germany, encouraging them to make the most of this life-changing experience.

The event also featured alumni from SGU who had completed their studies in Germany, including Alicia Rasidi (SEE 2021), Lina Lucia, Carsten Agrivina, and Elysia Velin Arsanti. They enthusiastically shared their experiences, from academic life to internships, offering practical tips on how to thrive during their stay in Germany. The alumni spoke about the exciting moments and challenges they faced, highlighting the importance of adaptability, curiosity, and determination.

Adding a special touch, Mrs. Fransisca, a representative of the SGU Parents Association, also joined the event to offer heartfelt words of encouragement, reminding the students that they have a strong support system both in Indonesia and abroad.

The event concluded with a symbolic gesture—a scarf was presented to each departing student, symbolizing SGU’s ongoing support and presence, no matter where their journey takes them. This touching ceremony underscored the deep connection between SGU and its students, reaffirming the university’s commitment to their success and well-being.
As the students prepare to embark on this new adventure, the farewell event served as a reminder of the strong foundation and unwavering support that SGU provides, inspiring them to embrace their upcoming experiences with confidence and enthusiasm.
