Swiss German University Hosts the 2024 Conference on Management and Engineering in Industry (CMEI)
Swiss German University (SGU) successfully held the Conference on Management and Engineering in Industry (CMEI) 2024 on October 2, 2024, at the headquarters of PT United Tractors, Tbk in Cakung, East Jakarta. This event brought together industry experts, scholars, and students to share knowledge and insights on the current opportunities and challenges within the fields of management and engineering.
The purpose of this conference was not only to explore current trends in these industries but also to foster cooperation and collaboration among participants. The event promoted the potential for creating joint initiatives, including collaborative classes, between academic institutions and industry players.
Attendees included students from the Master of Mechatronics Engineering program at SGU and representatives from all members of Astra. The event kicked off with a series of opening remarks, starting with Abun Jafar Jaya, Head of United Tractor Corporate Human Capital and Corporate University Division, followed by Dr. Ir. Maulahikmah Galinium, S.Kom., M.Sc., Director of Academic Research and Community Service and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & IT at SGU, and concluded by Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc., IPU, APEC Eng., representing the organizing committee of CMEI at SGU.
The conference continued with keynote sessions delivered by prominent figures from both SGU and PT United Tractors, Tbk. including Edhie Sarwono, M.T., Director of PT United Tractors, Tbk, presented a keynote titled, “Bridging the Gap for Current and Future Industry 4.0 Opportunities: Strategic Partnerships with a Strong Ecosystem Development.” Another highlight was Dena Hendriana, B.Sc., S.M., Sc.D., Head of Master Mechanical Engineering at SGU, who discussed the “Challenges and Opportunities During Possible Deindustrialization in Indonesia.”
Additionally, SGU awarded medals to Daniel Henry Frans Mollet, Head of Parts Division at United Tractor, and Ahmad Anwari, Head of United Tractor Corporate University, recognizing their significant contributions to the partnership.
Commenting on the success of the event, Dr. Ir. Maulahikmah Galinium stated, “SGU greatly values the collaboration established with United Tractor, which has positively impacted the increase in enrollment in the Master of Mechatronics Engineering program. This partnership has also facilitated the successful execution of CMEI 2024 at United Tractor’s headquarters.”
The event also featured Dr. Ir. Eka Budiarto, M.Sc., Dr. Aditya T. Pratama, M.Eng., and Tabligh Permana, M.Si., distinguished faculty members of SGU, who took on roles as moderators for various sessions throughout the day.
Commenting on the success of the event, Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P.
