Master of Mechanical Engineering Program at Swiss German University Holds New Year Gathering to Welcome 2025
On January 18, 2025, the Master of Mechanical Engineering (MME) program at Swiss German University held its New Year Gathering at the SGU Student Lounge, marking the beginning of a promising year filled with enthusiasm and collaboration. This special event served as a platform to unite MME lecturers, students, and alumni, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared inspiration.
The gathering featured a knowledge-sharing session led by Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc., IPU, ACPE, APEC Eng., the newly appointed Head of the MME Study Program. During his session, Dr. Gembong outlined his vision for the program, emphasizing the importance of innovation and adaptability in tackling the challenges and opportunities of 2025. His insights set a forward-looking tone for the year ahead.
The event was further graced by the presence of Dr. Maulahikmah Galinium, S.Kom., M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, underscoring the faculty’s strong support for the MME program.
Approximately 40–50 participants attended the event, representing a vibrant mix of students and alumni, including professionals from leading organizations such as United Tractors, AHM, and Poltek Caltex Riau.
To ensure inclusivity and accessibility, the gathering was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing both onsite and online participation. This approach enabled alumni and students who were unable to join in person to remain connected and engaged.
The New Year Gathering also provided an invaluable opportunity for attendees to network, exchange ideas, and build stronger relationships within the MME community.
