Annual SGU Teacher Gathering: Provision of Professional Counseling

Jakarta, 2 June 2016 – The SGU Teacher Gathering is an annual event organized by Swiss German University. The purpose of this event is to equip the teachers with valuable training and workshop so that they could provide excellent education and services to the students.This year, the SGU Teacher Gathering is themed: Provision of Professional Counseling: Student Relations and Careers, was held on June 2nd, 2016 at the Pullman Hotel, Thamrin, Jakarta.

Around 30 representative teachers from SGU’s partnering schools attended this event. The event was opened by SGU’s Director of Communication, Ms. Christie Kanter and was followed by a Presentation on Student-Parent Relations by Psychologist, Elizabeth T. Santosa, M.Psi. The topic was very interesting and gave the participants a deep insight into the benefits of building strong relationships.

In the second session, the Head of Bachelor of Business Administration at SGU, Dr. Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Rachman Sjarief, MM. MH., gave a presentation on Career paths for students.  Through this presentation he hopes all counselors can guide their students to choose majors according to their interests and talents. It is hoped that the good relationship between SGU and the teachers will grow stronger.
