Chairman of SGU Board of Patronage Along With SGU Rector Visited FH Südwestfalen, Soest, Germany
As part of the strong collaboration between Swiss German University (SGU) and FH Südwestfalen for more than 15 years, Chairman of SGU Board of Patronage, Mr. Chris Kanter and SGU Rector, Dr. rer. nat. Filiana Santoso visited FH Südwestfalen in Soest, Germany. Mr. Kanter and Dr. Filiana were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Soest, Mrs. Christiane Mackensen.
"Welcome to Soest", said Mrs. Mackensen, as she greeted the guests in English. She gave a brief overview of the long history of the Hanseatic city of Soest, explaining how the extraction of salt and the trade of "white gold" made the city prosperous over the centuries, until it became gradually more meaningless after the feud. Mrs. Mackensen also praised the cooperation between SGU and FH Südwestfalen.
Mr. Kanter thanked FH Südwestfalen for their solidarity, the companies and institutions for their support of the Indonesian students, and called for the "spirit of community" with which he greeted all the citizens of Soest. On February 1st, 200 SGU students came to Soest and, after spending four weeks at the FH in Soest, these young people will undertake their internships all over Germany. The evening continued with an Indonesian festival in the auditorium of the FH Südwestfalen.
