About Study Program
SGU Information Technology program is one of the first established study programs in SGU. The IT Study Program prepares the students for their future career by offering hard skills and, at the same time, gives space for soft skills development. The small class sizes allow intensive interaction between students and lecturers.
What You Study
Students learn Information Technology basic knowledge such as programming, database, data structure, computer networks, software engineering, system analysis and design.
Students also learn and work on projects in the fields of the latest technology, such as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Sensors, Computer Security and Mobile/Web Application Development, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Business Intelligence and Data Mining.

Why in SGU
According to ComputerWorld Survey (www.computerworld.com), IT jobs will grow 22% by 2020. For example, Software developers will increase by 32%, Computer Network Admin by 28% and Computer Security Experts by 22%.
One must have a comprehensive IT skills, both theoretical and practical, in order to grasp these promising opportunities. SGU IT has developed its competencies especially in the fields of Computer Security, Human-Computer Interaction, Web/Mobile Application Development, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, and High-Performance Computing.
We combine teaching with a lot of lab activities and projects. In some cases, students have the opportunity to work on a real project.
Graduates with an IT Bachelor’s degree enjoy excellent, diverse and global employment opportunities. Many IT graduates work in multinational companies or as IT consultants. IT jobs ranges from Enterprise Web/Mobile Application Developer, Network Admin and Security, System Analyst, Big Data Analyst, to Technopreneur in IT as well as other IT related businesses. Recently, the number of SGU IT graduates who have set up their own IT companies has increased.
