Electromobility : Toward a Zero City
More than 50% of the world’s population lives in cities and it is predicted that by 2050 this percentage will rise to 70%, according to forecasts by the United Nations. The Increase in urban populations is accompanied by a greater need for mobility and transport, creating a challenge for already-existing conditions and in many cases having an impact on people and the environment. Several of these challenges are the consequence of transport-related emissions, which contributed to climate change and the generation of noise and air pollution. An important part of the strategy to reduce the pollution level is the implementation of electromobility vehicles including electric buses. Electromobility is the collective name for on-road transport methods powered wholly or in part by electricity. In the long term, electric propulsion of buses is likely to be the most efficient way to power the public transport system. However, the change will not take place overnight.
