Excursion Information Technology Department

On Tuesday, 31st of March 2015, Bachelor of Information Technology students visited two multinational companies which are Oracle Indonesia and Microsoft Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 50 students who were from the 2nd, 4th and 8th semester were accompanied by Mr. Maulahikmah Galinium.

Oracle is an American multinational company which specializes in developing entreprise software products and computer hardware systems. As of 2011, Oracle is 
the second-largest software maker by revenue, after Microsoft. At Oracle Indonesia, student is given a presentation about latest technology that Oracle uses and type of Oracle product in Indonesia, especially for Oracle Database Technology. In addition to that, Oracle also has various type of jobs in IT and what should student prepare to achieve those jobs. Currently Oracle Indonesia is also preparing for free Oracle Academy program that can be matched and used in IT curriculum for the university.

Furthermore after visiting Oracle Indonesia, the excursion continue to visit Microsoft Indonesia. Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational corporation that develops and manufactures computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers and services. The worldwide known product are Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. At Microsoft Indonesia, students has a chance to see working environment there which are cozy and comfort to work. The students are also introduced with Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) program, which is an online portal to help student learning a new technology, build their skills and advance their careers. Microsoft also provide free certificates to students who pass course and exam in MVA Program.
