Faculty of Life Sciences & Technology’s Participation in an International Conference

The Dean of Life Sciences & Technology (LST,)  Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel Kusumocahyo, LST lecturer Ir. Paulus Gunawan, M.M, and Gerald Justin Goenawan, S.T., B.Eng, were invited by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Taiwan to give presentations at the International Conference on “Future Healthcare and Economic Development in Southeast Asia 2017” in August, in Tainan City, Taiwan. The main aim of the conference was to provide a forum that enabled an easier sharing of cutting-edge technologies and applied academic skills in various areas related to healthcare in Southeast Asian countries. The participants included key-opinion leaders, renowned professors, researchers, and other respected industry persons from many countries such as Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, India, Bangladesh, the United States of America, and Russia.

The Conference was opened on August 13th with a warm welcome from Prof. Fong-Chin Su, the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Taiwan, and Prof. Huey-Jen Su, the President of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). The conference lasted until the August 17th, and the participants were given a tour around Tainan on the 18th of August, visiting Tainan Science Park, the Southern Taiwan Medical Industry Cluster, the National Museum of Taiwan History, and the Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park.
