FLST SGU & Dirmarcomm Foster Educational Engagement in Semarang

Friday, December 1, 2023 – Swiss German University’s Faculty of Life Science and Technology (FLST) and the Directorate of Marketing Communication (Dirmarcomm) embarked on a two-day educational initiative in Semarang on December 1-2, 2023. The first event, Amazing Science Teachers Day 2023, held at Hotel Aston Inn Semarang, welcomed approximately 37 guidance counselors from various high schools in Semarang. The primary objective was to strengthen ties between SGU and local high schools, including SMA Karangturi, SMA Tri Tunggal, SMA Sedes Septiane, SMA Theresiana, SMA Nasima, SMA Semesta, SMA Daniel Creative, SMA Kebon Dalem, SMA Krista Mitra, SMA IT Harapan Bunda, SMA Al Azhar, SMA Laboratorium Upgris, and SMA Mardisiswa.

The workshop, facilitated by Mrs. Filiana Santoso and Mrs. Maria Gunawan, centered around the theme “Exploring Favourite University Major for Generation Z” and “Workshop on Innovative Teaching Methods for AI Generation.” The sessions were conducted in an engaging and interactive manner, fostering a productive exchange of ideas between SGU representatives and high school educators.

On the second day, December 2, 2023, a “Fun Science Workshop” was hosted at SMA Tri Tunggal, Semarang, attended by 10th and 11th-grade students. Once again, Mrs. Filiana Santoso and Mrs. Maria Gunawan captivated the students with an interactive and fascinating presentation.

As the FLST and Dirmarcomm teams actively contribute to educational outreach, it is hoped that these initiatives will have a positive and lasting impact on Swiss German University (SGU). The collaborative efforts between SGU and local high schools aim to inspire and guide the younger generation towards fulfilling educational and professional journeys.

Together, let us extend our collective wishes for the success of these endeavors, as the FLST and Dirmarcomm teams continue to make strides in building meaningful connections and fostering educational growth for SGU. (Vid/DM)
