Food Technology Community Service: FT Goes To YKAKI “A Living Lesson”

On 22nd of June 2015, Food Technology Department held a community service which took place in Yayasan Kasih Anak Kanker Indonesia (YKAKI), Central Jakarta. The participants were SAFT members and lecturers.  During the visit both YKAKI and FT Lecturer and students exchange their knowledge on the importance of umbrella for the young cancer patients and healthy living. 
The community service was run pleasantly with open hands both from YKAKI foundation as well as the children and their families. Together FT and YKAKI cherished every moment of togetherness. It was a very memorable event that both could experience and learn from. The most prominent lesson was to face the problems of life without despair but with smile and through faith and love. “We believe that the lesson of life and compassion to contribute for better community will build the students’ character as our future leaders”, said Ir. Abdullah Muzi Marpaung, MP, Head of Dept Food Technology Department.
The event was started with games, continued with presentations about YKAKI and Healthy Living Habit, dinner together, and was ended with a song “Ingatlah Hari Ini” from the FT Students.
