Guest Lecturers: Human Resources Enrichment for Business Administration Students
“A trip down memory lane” for SGU alumni, Ms. Dewi Soeharsono, as she completed her seminar for Business Administration (BA) students on April 15th, 2015. Ms. Dewi was passionate and enthusiastic about enlightening her knowledge and experience as Siemens’ Human Resource Manager for semester 2 students of BA department.
Ms. Dewi was a Swiss German University (SGU) Alumni, who graduated in 2007, studying International Business Administration. A voracious and active participant in the Business world, Ms. Dewi believes that students of today must know the importance of selection and recruitment in order to prepare them for Internship programs.
Ms. Dewi gave a treasure chest of useful insights to the students. First of all, she defined, “what is Human Resources Management”? Elaborating on planning, acquiring the project team, developing it and managing the team. But as well as tips and tricks, Ms. Dewi also gave students an insight on her time as a student in SGU, reflecting on changes and the past and present. Finally, Ms. Dewi also gave students an opportunity to be introspective and look into what “type of person” are you with the task directed responsiveness diagram, such as analytical or the expressive type.
It was a memorable morning for both Ms. Dewi and the second semester students. Students were engaged in her blossoming show of skills and thoughts about being an HR manager as well as a student in Swiss German University. Semester 2 students become more aware of this information so that they will be well prepared for the job interview, get the internship offer and most importantly manage to finish the internship in their third semester with a successful result.
