Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between Swiss German University and Universitas Putera Batam
Swiss German University is committed to actively participate in advancing education in Indonesia through various collaborations built with both local and foreign universities. This time, Swiss German University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universitas Putera Batam, which was conducted online on Thursday 26 August 2021.
The realization of this collaboration was carried out in Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, in the fields of education, research, and community service. This implementation is carried out through the Center of Excellence socialization, to implement the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka program. This collaboration is run through a grant received by SGU’s Bachelor of Information Technology study program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud) Republic of Indonesia.
“We hope that this collaboration can improve the quality of lecturers and students of each university. We also need input from fellow lecturers at Swiss German University so that collaboration can be created both from fellow study programs and interdisciplinary study programs,” said Dr. Nur Elfi Husda., S.Kom., M.Si, rector of Universitas Putera Batam.
Rector of Swiss German University, Dr. rer. nat. Filiana Santoso, said that cooperation with Universitas Putera Batam had previously been carried out in the field of Cyber Security, this new scheme is expected to be a greater collaboration between the two universities.
On this occasion, she also mentioned how Swiss German University was excited when the Government launched the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka program as a national program. As the DNA since its beginning, Swiss German University believes that collaborations with partner universities are one of the keys to the university’s success and the key to future human resource development.
“I hope this (memorandum of understanding) can strengthen the cooperation between Swiss German University and Universitas Putera Batam. Our lecturers will share the knowledge we have with fellow lecturers at UPB so that we can jointly advance education and improve the quality of human resources for the younger generation,” Dr. rer. nat. Filiana Santoso added.
After the signing ceremony ended, the event continued with the socialization of the grant explanation, which was conducted by Dr. Maulahikmah G., M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology and MBKM assessor of Swiss German University.
