MGI-Swiss German University 5-Week Bootcamp, Preparing the Next Generation of SOC Analysts with Lintasarta
The MGI-Swiss German University 5-Week Bootcamp : Lintasarta SOC Analyst L1 Program successfully concluded after five weeks of intensive training, designed to equip future cybersecurity professionals with the necessary skills for the role of SOC (Security Operations Center) Analyst L1. This program was the result of a strategic collaboration between MGI (Mitra Gerbang Indonesia), Swiss German University (SGU), and Lintasarta, aimed at enhancing the credibility and capabilities of candidates selected to support Lintasarta’s SOC operations.
Held from September 9 to October 11, 2024, the bootcamp trained 15 selected participants, carefully recruited by SGU and MGI. These candidates were chosen for their potential to excel in cybersecurity and were provided with specialized training that aligned with the latest industry standards. All training content was delivered exclusively by expert trainers from MGI and SGU.
Dr. Ir. Charles Lim, Bsc., M.Sc., the Leader Trainer and Deputy Head of SGU’s Master of Information Technology Study Program, emphasized the value of the training, “This bootcamp was designed to offer practical, hands-on experience combined with in-depth cybersecurity theory. By focusing on real-world cybersecurity challenges, we are ensuring that the participants are not only prepared but also capable of excelling in their new roles within Lintasarta’s SOC operations.”
Throughout the program, participants engaged in live simulations, cybersecurity threat monitoring, incident response scenarios, and practical use of industry-standard tools. The training equipped them with the skills and confidence to handle real-time cybersecurity incidents, making them valuable assets to Lintasarta’s operations.
SGU Rector, Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, noted, “This bootcamp showcases the power of collaboration between academia and industry. By aligning our educational programs with the actual needs of companies like Lintasarta, we are building a bridge between education and real-world industry demands, helping to create a pipeline of skilled professionals ready to address critical cybersecurity challenges.”
One of the bootcamp participants reflected on the experience, saying, “This training was intense but rewarding. The combination of theory and practice gave me a clear understanding of what it takes to succeed as a SOC Analyst L1.”
The successful completion of this bootcamp highlights SGU and MGI’s dedication to preparing industry-ready professionals. By collaborating with Lintasarta, they are ensuring that the next generation of SOC Analysts is well-equipped to safeguard critical infrastructures and meet the challenges of modern cybersecurity.
The MGI-SGU 5-Week Bootcamp sets a strong example of how academic institutions and industry leaders can work together to create specialized, highly capable talent in the field of cybersecurity.
