Rules

  • Participants submit a video containing a scene reading the news according to the attached text, together with the filled form of registration in pdf. 
  • The video must be submitted through SGU Website 
  • Participants may choose their own background for the video as long as it is free from
    moving objects (such as people, vehicles, pets, etc)
  • There are no specific rules regarding the quality of the video as long as it shows the face
    and body clearly.
  • The video must be submitted according to the date stated
  • Each participant is allowed to submit only a video
  • The video must be disseminated through social media account with the hashtag #GSC_SGU_NewscastingCompetition2021 mentioning GSC social media accounts @gsc.sgu and vt.tiktok.com/ZSJoMrXB2/

Scoring Criteria 

The assessment range score is based on a number of elements as follows:

  • Performance, including self-presentation, confidence, expression and eye contact
  • Material Control, including intonation, articulation, tempo, and timing
  • Ability in English, including vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency
  • Appearance, including neatness, clothes, and make-up
  • Dissemination via social media accounts

Winner Announcement

All participants should respect and appreciate every judgement from the judges
The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested
There is no correspondence pertaining to the judging process will be considered
Winner announcement will be posted on the SGU website
Winner will be contacted directly by the Committee
