SGU Explores Academic Collaboration with Evergreen College: A New Horizon of Partnership

Wednesday, October 11, 2023 – Swiss German University (SGU) warmly welcomed a delegation from Evergreen College, represented by Mr. Din Awad – President of Evergreen College, and Ms. Linda Cook – Program Director of Evergreen College. The purpose of this meeting was to initiate discussions regarding potential academic collaborations between the two esteemed institutions.

During this engaging encounter, representatives from both universities engaged in a series of productive discussions, sharing insights about curricula, teaching methodologies, educational programs, and research focuses at their respective institutions.

The SGU team, including VR 1 Mr. Leonard Rusli, VR 2 Mrs. Nila Krisnawati, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication Mr. Yosman Bustaman, Head and Deputy of the HTM Program Mr. Robert La Are and Chef Rano, as well as SGU’s Director of Cooperations Mrs. Deborah Simorangkir, actively participated in intensive discussions. The talks encompassed various potential areas of collaboration, including student exchanges, collaborative research projects, and most notably, Evergreen College’s offering of Job-Oriented Diplomas Scholarships for SGU students in Hospitality Operations and Hospitality Management programs.

This visit also provided Evergreen College with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the facilities and academic environment at the SGU campus. Both parties showed enthusiasm about the possibilities that could be realized through this close collaboration in the future.
