SGU Lecturer Receives PTC’s Young Scholar Program Award
Ms. Anis Hamidati, an SGU lecturer, was named in the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) 2018 Young Scholar Program Recipients. The PTC’s Young Scholar Program, which was held from January 21 – 24, 2018 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hawaii, recognizes and supports promising scholars in the field of telecommunication and ICT. Ms. Anis’s research paper submission entitled “One Tribe, Many Venues: The Use of Multiple Online Community Platforms by Indonesian Government Scholarship Recipients”, was chosen among hundreds of high-quality submissions from across the globe for this program.
Ms. Anis Hamidati, SGU Communication & Public Relations lecturer, is a Ph.D. Candidate in Communication and Information Sciences program at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, USA. She is also a scholarship recipient of KEMENRISTEKDIKTI (the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia). She presented her findings in the area of telecommunications and ICT, specifically in Digital Development in the Young Scholar Sessions on January 23rd, 2018.
The Pacific Telecommunications Council is a global non-profit membership organization promoting the advancement of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) and mobilizes global leaders in telecommunications and IT industries, so they can drive the development of ICT across the Pacific region. PTC’s annual conference is the Pacific Rim’s premier telecommunication event which provides all attendees with a three-day platform to focus on planning, networking, and discovering new innovations. PTC 2018 was also the 40th anniversary celebration for the conference.
SGU would like to congratulate our Faculty of Business and Communication member Ms. Anis Hamidati for the international achievement. Hopefully, as the recipient of PTC Young Scholar Program, Ms. Anis could support her beloved country, Indonesia, in the development of telecommunication and ICT area.
