SGU Orientation Week 2016
From August 15 – 19, 2016 Swiss German University held Orientation Week 2016 for the new students. During the week, all new SGU students from 11 bachelor’s study programs joined the program. The Orientation Week provided the new students with information related to academic & campus life, student organizations, facilities, etc. They were also introduced to their lecturers, seniors, and class mates.
During the event, there were seminars and socialization, including a seminar titled “Challenge Your Limitation” delivered by Erwin Parengkuan from Talk Inc.; a socialization about drugs abuse delivered by Dr. Victor Pudjiadi, Sp.B., FICS, DFM from BNN; and a Self-Motivation seminar delivered by one of SGU’s lecturers, Dr. Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Rachman Sjarief, MM. MH.
On the third day of the Orientation Week, which was August 17, SGU students, lecturers, and staff also celebrated the 71st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. In order to foster and develop the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in students, lecturers and staff members, SGU conducted a flag-raising ceremony, held at Swiss German University campus, BSD City, Tangerang, Banten. Twenty-one students from the student exchange program also joined the flag-raising ceremony and the whole series of the Orientation Week.
For this semester 5, 21 exchange students are attending SGU from SGU’s partner universities throughout Europe. SGU has partnered with 17 universities throughout Europe in order to prepare SGU students not only with knowledge and skills needed by the industry, but also with global experience and perspectives of international work ethics.
