SGU Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Polytechnic Manufacture ASTRA
On March 31, 2015 Acting Rector of Swiss German University (SGU) Dr.rer.nat. Filiana Santoso signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Polytechnic Manufacture ASTRA (Polman ASTRA) represented by Drs. Yakub Liman, M.S.Ed., the Director of Polman ASTRA. The delegation from SGU who attended the ceremony were Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, MSc., Dean of Faculty of Engineering & IT, Dr.rer.nat. Maruli Panjaitan, Director of Cooperation, Leonard P. Rusli, BS, MS, PhD Head of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering concentration of Mechatronics, and ir. Landoh Garnito, MTD, coordinator of FEIT extension program. Meanwhile the delegation from Polman ASTRA included leaders of study programs and officials, among others Bapak Tony Pongoh the Deputy Director of Polman ASTRA.

On this occasion, SGU, especially the Faculty of Engineering and IT in particular, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering concentration of Mechatronics and Polman ASTRA realized the same commitment to support the development of “Tri Dharma” in a formal Memorandum of Understanding. Therefore, under the umbrella of this MoU, a team from Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering concentration of Mechatronics SGU led by Dr. Rusli with a team from Polman ASTRA led by Dr. Harki will setup and execute a research project together. Moreover, under this MoU both institutions may develop any initiatives together towards development of human resources both for Bachelor or Master level.

After the main event of signing the MoU between the two institutions, acting rector of SGU presented a token memento to the Director of Polman ASTRA. After this a discussion continued towards possible mutual initiatives between the two institutions and ended with a visit to the facilities and (research) projects developed by Polman ASTRA.
