SGU Symposium 2024 – Creating a Sustainable Future with Global Partnerships

Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 – The SGU Symposium 2024 hosted by ARCS Swiss German University was a success, featuring inspiring speakers and insightful sessions. SGU Rector Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo opened the online event with inspiring remarks.

Keynote Presentation: Rajnesh Singh, CEO of The APNIC Foundation, delivered a compelling keynote address, sharing valuable insights and perspectives on partnerships for digital development.

The symposium also featured engaging plenary sessions moderated by Dr. Hery Sutanto, S.Si., M.Si. The distinguished plenary speakers included:

  1. Prof. Gilbert Tumibay from SolBridge International School of Business (South Korea) spoke on the SolBridge initiative & achievement to create a sustainable future through global partnerships.
  2. Ioannis Evagelou from the International Management Institute (Switzerland), who presented on Tourism: 4.0: a new era trends, developments and opportunities.
  3. Dr. H. Ujang Sudiartono, ST, MT, Head of the Planning and Development Agency (BAPPEDA) of Tangerang Regency, spoke on conserving and protecting Tangerang mangrove habitats for a sustainable future.
  4. Kholis Abdurachim Audah, M.Sc, Ph.D, is a member of the Food and Health Research Center Swiss German University covered mangroves as a model for sustainable drugs discovery from Indonesian biodiversity.

Following the plenary sessions, the symposium featured five breakout rooms where dedicated faculty members presented their research, community service, programs, and SGU institutional development. Each breakout room had a respective moderator, ensuring smooth and productive sessions, among others: Edward Boris P. Manurung, M. Eng., Dr. Maulahikmah Galinium, S.Kom, M.Sc., Margaretha T.P. Linga, MM, Dr. Irvan Setiadi Kartawiria, S.T., M.Sc., Sumini Salem, B.Sc., S.E., MBA, M.M.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Assoc. Prof. Ir. James Purnama, M.Sc, ARCS Director at Swiss German University. He expressed gratitude to all participants and shared his hopes for the symposium, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration and innovation in addressing the challenges and opportunities in the field.
