Swiss German University Master’s Program in Information Technology Inaugurates Security Operation Center (SOC)

Tuesday, 7th November 2023 – The Master’s Program in Information Technology at Swiss German University proudly announces the official inauguration of the Security Operation Center (SOC), poised to make a positive impact in the future.

Established to meet the internal needs of the university, SOC SGU also serves as a learning platform for students. However, with its evolution, SOC has been designated as the national incident response coordination center responsible for handling cybersecurity incidents reported to ACAD-CSIRT (Academic Computer Security Incident Response Team). This strategic move positions SOC SGU as a significant contributor to enhancing cybersecurity in Indonesia, especially within the academic environment.

In terms of research, SOC SGU is planned to be an integral part of the SecureTech Research Hub, a research center at SGU aiming to become a center of excellence for cybersecurity research in Indonesia.

The inauguration event of SOC, held last Tuesday, was attended by key figures in the field of Information Technology, including Dr. Sulistyo, Deputy for Security and Human Development of BSSN; Husni Teja Sukmana, Ph.D., Secretary General of APTIKOM; Prof.Dr.Ir. Richardus Eko Indrajit, Chair of ACAD-CSIRT; Dwi Sumarwanto, M.TI, Coordinator of Application and Information Security at Pusdatin Kemendikbudristek, and was officially opened by Dr.Dipl. -Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, Rector of SGU.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the Master’s Program in Information Technology at SGU for this remarkable achievement and the launch of SOC SGU. May this SOC make a significant and positive contribution to SGU and the cybersecurity landscape in Indonesia.
