Swiss German University and Ora et Labora Foundation Sign MOU

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of Swiss German University (SGU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SMK Ora et Labora (SMK OeL) under Ora et Labora Foundation. This event was held at Menara Karya Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan on Tuesday, 18 April 2017. This signing is in accordance with the upcoming opening of SMK Ora et Labora in July 2017.

For this signing, SGU was represented by Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc. Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and Ora et Labora Foundation was represented by Mrs. Sandi Rahaju, Chairperson of Ora et Labora Foundation. Witness to this signing were the Rector of SGU, Dr. rer.nat. Filiana Santoso and the Head of Board of Trustees of Ora et Labora Foundation, Mr. Edwin Soeryadjaya. Also attending this event were, Mr Leonard Pryatna Rusli, M.Sc.,Ph.D., Head of Mechatronics Program of SGU, Mr. Jerry Ngo, Chief Financial Officer PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk, Mr. Kumari, Chief Financial Officer of Saratoga Capital Investment and Ora Et Labora Foundation management.

This MOU sets out several programs which include an examination of the teaching and learning process from SGU lecturers as part of SGU community services, input on planning the student and learning process and other several more programs in the future. These cooperation programs hopefully can be implemented at the beginning of SMK OeL’s operational stage.

In her speech, Dr. Filiana underlined the similarity of education purposes between SGU and SMK OeL, which have the potential to make a great synergy between the institutions. “SGU is built on the purpose of not only giving excellent academic quality ally, but also focusing on character building. SMK OeL plan to give character building by industrial training and dormitory which is aligned closely with SGU’s purpose,” Dr. Filiana stated.

SMK OeL is the first private vocational school in Indonesia specializing in electrical power engineering. Involving the FEIT SGU, will hopefully give added value to their graduates.
