Swiss German University Strengthens Relationships and Cooperation through Teacher's Gathering

 June 08, 2015 – Swiss German University (SGU) held a Teacher's Gathering with a theme "Creative Counseling & Education Towards Global Competence” on June 4th, 2015 at Intercontinental Hotel – Jakarta. The Teacher's Gathering was held to strengthen the valuable relationship with counselling teachers from schools in Tangerang, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, Bogor, and other areas as well as to refresh teachers from their active daily routines at school. The gathering was attended by 20 counselling teachers from 15 schools that were invited.

The event was opened by Vice Rector Non – Academic, Edward Boris P. Manurung, M.Eng and continued with a presentation about SGU's new programs by the Director of Communication, Christie Kanter. In order to better equip teachers in their counselling tasks, SGU also invited
Founder of Meliora Learning Academy, Henny E. Wirawan, M.Hum, who delivered material on “Creative Counselling and Conflict Management” in which she decribed the character of teenagers and shared ways on how to be a great counselor and provide creative counseling practice.

The second session was continued by SGU Deputy Head of Hotel and Tourism Management, Vishnuvardhana S. Soeprapto, BA., MA., who delivered content on “Education Towards Global Competence”.

The event later continued with the School Appreciation for the top 5 (five) schools as a form of appreciation to those schools with good partnerships over the years in the field of academic and non-academic activities.

SGU provided an LEDTV 32 inch and shopping vouchers of IDR 400,000 to SMA Penabur Gading Serpong, SMA St. Laurensia, SMA Al – Azhar BSD, SMA IPEKA Puri, and SMA St. Ursula BSD. SGU also provided shopping vouchers of IDR 400,000 to other schools that were present and showed a track record of students that are active in campus activities. 
The event was closed with several doorprizes including smartphone, powerbank, shopping vouchers, and others.

As stated by Edward Boris P. Manurung, "Let us together provide good education and leadership to our students towards global competence”, hopefully through this event good cooperation and long term partnerships can be achieved by SGU and all teachers in order to provide an excellent education for students who will be the nation's future leaders and innovators.
