From 16th April to 30th April 2016, the 19th International Workshop) was hosted in the Netherlands by Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. The 19th International Workshop  invited more than 42 students and 13 professors from eight 8 different universities across America, Europe and Asia.  Swiss German University (SGU) in BSDCity, Tangerang participated in this international event as the representative of the Indonesian Team.  Six students and one professor were sent from Swiss German University.

During the workshop, the participating members of the workshop along with the professors worked together in a business management simulation game. In this game, each of the participating members was assigned to manage a specific functional area of operation in a company.  Each of the assigned participating members had a specific job to run the company. This business management simulation aims to test and to train the marketing skills and the management abilities of the participating members to effectively run a company.

The 19th International Workshop was set across three different European countries namely the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The international event also took place in five different cities and during the workshop the students had the chance to visit  three different companies in Europe (Batavus, Future Land and PSA Peugeot Citroën). Many of the students were first-timers when they first visited the car manufacturer in France. The  three countries experience across Europe also offered the participants  amazing and beautiful sightseeing across big and small cities in Europe as well as visits  to  famous landmarks and monuments.

The workshop also included cultural evenings presented by each of the participating national teams. The Indonesian Team presented their cultural evening with the “Kecak” dance from Bali, “Poco-Poco” dance from Maluku and “Jembot” game. The Indonesian cultural evening also showcased the audience  to the Indonesian Archipelago, tourist attractions, as well as its most popular national dish “rendang”.  Indonesian night was a huge success and well-acclaimed by the audience thanks to the help of Damario Sujono (20), Azizi Hanif (21), Nindya Rahmatunnisa (21), Naell Nasir Bagis (21), Ivander Sudarnoto (21), and Yudi Hadipatra (22). All of the Indonesian students are from Swiss German University.

The International Workshop has been a great learning experience for the many participating students as well as “a great enjoyment in the middle of  the stressful life as a student”. According to Ben Bosmans (22), a student from UC Leuven-Limburg, Belgium, “I made friends for life and had a unique look into different cultures and social behaviours,” and according to Keith Ramdeen, a student from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), USA, “I made friends that would last a lifetime, visited countries I have never been to.” This International Workshop is the 19th  after last year it was successfully hosted by Swiss German University in Indonesia. Next year, the 20th International Workshop will be hosted in China and Swiss German University in Tangerang will again represent the Indonesian Team.
