Prioritizing the Right to Education Students, Swiss German University (SGU) Provide New Building
Tangerang, 18 Januari 2017 – Swiss German University (SGU) has proven its commitment to ensuring the sustainability of Teaching and Learning Activities by preparing the lecture building for all staff and students, both undergraduate and graduate. The new lecture building is located in The Prominence Tower, Alam Sutera, Tangerang is being prepared to be used at the beginning of the semester 0n 20 February 2017, where the use of this campus is planned for a period of 2-3 years, until land is acquired to build a brand new campus, or a suitable permanent building is purchased.
Action has been taken by SGU to safeguard the interests of students and the realization of the guarantee measures which had previously been expressed after blocking SGU campus involuntary unilaterally by PT. Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk / Sinarmas Land (PT. BSD / SML) on last December 17, 2016. "SGU’s Priority is making sure students receive their right to education. This step confirms our strong commitment in ensuring that the learning process is not interrupted" SGU Rector Dr. rer. nat. Filiana Santoso said.
"The whole SGU family has been working hard so that lectures can be given a maximum of schedule, although the period of time from when the course starts blocking up is quite short," added Filiana.
SGU's commitment was received positively by Krissan Malinda, an 8th SGU student majoring in Pharmaceutical Engineering who said, "As a student, I feel SGU is very responsible and cares about the sustainability of lectures. I am very thankful and grateful, because in a very short time SGU can still carry out its obligations as an educational institution that focuses on the rights and interests of students."
In the course of the legal process for resolving the dispute related to SGU campus in Edutown, BSD City, SGU has submitted expansion plans that will be realized soon. SGU Foundation Board Chairman, Dr. Frans Tshai, gave confirmation of this strategic plan, "SGU will be in Prominence Tower until the construction of a permanent campus as part of our expansion plans. SGU will continue to administer high quality education that prepares young people for a global challenge.”
Through concrete steps undertaken by SGU, such as the provision of a new lecture building, legality assurance SGU in operation as well as implementing the learning process, assurance of cooperation with partner institutions / companies both domestically and abroad continue to run, the implementation of the internship program, the curriculum for students and career prospects for graduates SGU, is expected to keep printing SGU graduates of international quality to the name of nation in the global.
