Bridging Academic and Industry Expectations in Industrial Engineering through Forum Group Discussion
Wednesday, July 24, 2024 – Swiss German University (SGU) hosted a forum group discussion (FGD) and workshop organized by the Industrial Engineering Study Program. The FGD featured two insightful sessions with esteemed speakers from prominent companies.
In the first session, the topic about Aligning Industrial Engineering Graduate Competencies with the Evolving Needs of the Automotive Industry , with Mr Ndaru Juliwintarto, ST, MT, Senior Officer from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia as the speaker, discussed the critical skills and knowledge required for industrial engineering graduates to succeed in the dynamic automotive industry. Emphasized the importance of adaptability, technological proficiency, and continuous learning.
In session two, the topic about Aligning Industrial Engineering Graduate Competencies with the Needs of the Electronics and Technology Sectors with Mr Thalhah Hanif Ramadhan, ST, Head of Business from PT. Artifa Sukses Persada (ASPERIO) as the main speaker, addressed the competencies needed for graduates to excel in electronics and technology.
There are 15 participants from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia and PT Artifa Sukses Persada (ASPERIO), who contributed valuable insights and engaged in meaningful discussions.
Industrial Engineering of SGU was represented by Ibu Triarti Saraswati M.Eng, Dr. Maulahikmah Galinium, Dr. Henry Nasution, Dr. Tanika D Sofianti, Ivan Kurniawan, ST, B.Eng, Mt, MBA, and Mr. Chakra Herlaut, ST
The primary aim of this forum was to bridge the gap between academic training and industry expectations and exemplify SGU’s commitment to innovation and professional growth.
These Focus Group Discussions are supported by grants of Program Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka (PKKM), Indonesia Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, year 2024 which the main agenda is for strengthening the curriculum of Industrial Engineering, specialization in “Smart Industry” which is “Industry 4.0 oriented” and emphasize the utilization of smart technologies
