Guest Lecture with Dr Andreas Kleine

On 14th March 2016 Dr. Andreas Kleine, Deputy Head of the Department for Energy Research and Strategy at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, delivered a guest lecture at SGU. The title of the lecture was “Change of Energy Supply from Fossil/Nuclear to Renewable Sources in Germany. The Role of Industry and Scientific Institutions in Applied Energy Research”.

The guest lecture was attended by students from the study program Sustainable Energy and Environment (semester 2 and semester 4) and by lecturers whose activities are related to the lecture topic. Dr. Kleine gave some information about the status of the current transformation of the energy supply system in Germany towards a renewable-energy based system. He spoke about ongoing governmental research programs for energy putting special emphasis on energy efficiency programs. The guest lecture gave the SGU lecturers and students an informative overview of current German energy policy.
