SGU Accounting Excursion to KPMG Audit Firm
The SGU accounting study program went on an excursion to KPMG Indonesia on March 15, 2017. Lecturers and accounting students from semester 2, 4 and 8 participated in the excursion.
The aim of the excursion was to gain an insight into the type of work of the audit firm and to enrich audit knowledge for accounting students. KPMG is a global network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, working closely with clients, helping them to mitigate risks and grasp opportunities. KPMG Indonesia is one of the largest practices in the country, providing services to multinational corporations, joint ventures and domestic companies operating in a wide range of business sectors. It is a resource for local and international business oriented expertise in Indonesia and provides access to the KPMG Global Network.
The excursion started with a presentation conducted by KPMG’s human resource department. They explained about the working environment at KPMG as well as the career opportunities within KPMG. Furthermore, KPMG ASEAN also offers scholarships to accounting students. The students were also given an office tour of KPMG Indonesia to get a feel for the corporation and its operations.
