SGU Global Strategic Communications – Creative Arts Against Sexual Harassment Competition

SGU Global Strategic Communications – Creative Arts Against Sexual Harassment Competition

Last Friday, 5 March 2021, SGU Global Strategic Communications hosted Creative Arts Against Sexual Harassment Competition: Winner Announcement online. This event was held as the culmination of a series of events that had previously been taking place since mid-February 2021.

At that time, SGU Global Strategic Communications invited a speaker, Prof. Alimatul Qibtiyah, S. Ag., M. Si., MA., Ph. D, a commissioner of Komnas Perempuan Indonesia. Previously, the event itself raised concerns about the increasing cases of sexual harrassment and sexual violence in schools and universities.

In order to further increase youth awareness, SGU Global Strategic Communications channeled this in the form of creative competitions. Each participant must submit original work that expresses their feelings about sexual harassment in a creative way: illustrations, poetry, videos, poster design, dance, music, speeches, etc.

About 93 entries were submitted from participants from all over Indonesia: 63 illustrations / posters, 1 dance, 16 videos, 4 poems, 2 speeches, 7 animations. Creative Arts Against Sexual Harassment Competition: Winner Announcement was moderated by Dr.phil. Deborah Simorangkir, Director of Internship and International Office SGU. This event was also attended by three judges who were appointed to evaluate the submitted works. They are

  • Nara Anumila: Singer/Songwriter, Graphic Designer
  • Ray Gnagey: Videographer, Digital Marketing
  • Chandni Vasandani: Journalist, Creative Writer, SGU Alumna
