SGU HELD THE 4th STAFF GATHERING

BSD City, 4 December 2015 – Swiss German University held the 4th Staff Gathering in conjunction with the 15th anniversary of the university’s establishment with the goal to improve the good cooperation and to build the connection between all SGU’s staffs. This activity was held for two days on 4 – 5 December 2015 at Marbella Hotel and Resort, Anyer and attended by the SGU’s Board members, lecturers, and staffs. The theme for this year’s gathering is “We Serve, We Care”, which signifies the philosophy of SGU family in providing the best service for students, colleagues, and most importantly to each other because we believe that education and exceptional character in serving others are fundamental in order to create great nation’s rising generation.

Team building games

The event began with a forum called Leadership Lounge attended by the leaders of departments and directorate as well as the Boards with the objective to share strategic thoughts related to SGU’s improvements in all aspects. Then, the Town Hall Meeting was also held attended by all participants of SGU’s staff gathering. In this meeting, all participants shared their critical feedback related to SGU.

“SGU is all ours, the development of SGU is in our hands, we are all responsible for it,” said Chairman of SGU Board of Patronage, Mr. Chris Kanter, in his opening speech. After a very productive sharing session, all participants were gathered at the beach to conduct the team building games from which teamwork and open communication were built.

Mr. Frans Tsai puts on a pin for employees with 10 years of employment

Since this year’s gathering was very special because SGU celebrate its 15th anniversary, SGU’s Board Members gave “10th year loyalty award” to a total of 29 employees who have worked for 10 years or more as a token of appreciation for their dedication and contribution to SGU until now. Each one of them is given an appreciation pin as well as 10 gram gold bar as symbols of gratitude.

“Without the dedication and loyalty of these employees, SGU will not be as big as today. SGU really thank them for always being there in the ups and downs of SGU,” said Chris.

The staff gathering was also filled with many interesting activities such as fun games, barbeque session, and many door prizes. Some of the door prizes were 10 (ten) Panasonic refrigerators, 10 (ten) Panasonic bread makers, 3 (three) plasma TVs, 4 (four) Panasonic digital cameras, 3  (three) Samsung smartphones, and many more. After the completion of SGU staff gathering, all of participants were recharged and motivated to continue giving their best for the institution.
