SGU Orientation Day 2024: Building Community and Empowering New Master Program Students
The SGU Orientation Day Master Program, held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, was a pivotal event designed to welcome and orient new students to the vibrant community of Swiss German University (SGU). The event opens with an inspiring speech delivered by SGU Rector Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, setting the tone for an engaging and informative day ahead.
One of the event’s highlights was an interactive talk show featuring esteemed alumni who shared their valuable insights and experiences on campus. The panelists included Samantha Tiara Widjaja, representing Engineering Management Batch 12 from MME; Nugroho Wibisono, representing Digital Innovation Batch 25 from MIT; and Laura Hernandez, representing MBA Batch 41. Dr. Eka Budiarto, S.T., M.Sc., skillfully moderated the discussion, enriching it with scholarly depth and facilitating meaningful exchanges between the panelists and the attendees.
The participation of attendees was actively encouraged through surveys, allowing them to provide valuable feedback that would shape future initiatives and enhance the overall student experience at SGU. Moreover, an interactive question-and-answer session allowed new students to directly address their queries to the panelists, fostering a sense of engagement and collaboration.
In addition to the informative sessions, the orientation day included a games session, adding an element of excitement and camaraderie among the participants; this not only served as a fun activity but also contributed to building a sense of solidarity within the SGU community.
Overall, the SGU Orientation Day Master Program provided an invaluable platform for new students to gain insights, connect with alumni, and immerse themselves in the rich and dynamic culture of SGU. By fostering engagement, collaboration, and feedback, the event played a significant role in ensuring a smooth transition for students into university life and setting the stage for a successful academic journey ahead.
