SGU PR Department and GSC Program Successfully Host Popular Writing Workshop

Friday, December 8, 2023 – the PR Department and the Global Strategic Communication (GSC) Program at Swiss German University (SGU) collaborated to organize a workshop on popular writing. The event featured Mr. Amir Sodikin, Managing Editor of Kompas.com, as the keynote speaker.

Attended by approximately 15 SGU faculty members from various programs, the workshop was both smooth and interactive. The overarching goal of the writing workshop was to empower participants to articulate research ideas effectively in a popular writing format adhering to media standards.

During the workshop, Mr. Iwan from the GSC Program crafted a compelling piece that has already been published on Kompas.com. The article, titled “https://www.kompas.com/edu/read/2023/12/06/104036071/gelisah-dunia-pendidikan-memahami-gen-z”, delves into the challenges of the education sector in understanding Generation Z.

The engaging session not only provided practical insights into popular writing but also demonstrated its real-world applicability through Mr. Iwan’s published work. The participants gained valuable knowledge on translating research findings into a format suitable for broader audiences.

In conclusion, the success of last week’s writing workshop reflects SGU’s commitment to enhancing the professional development of its faculty members. The hope is that the insights gained from this workshop will contribute to the continued growth of SGU’s academic community, fostering effective communication and impactful research dissemination.
