SGU Students Won 2nd Place at the 4th National Investment Day Organized by Bunda Mulia University

October 2, 2018 – During “The 4th National Investment Day” organized by Bunda Mulia University and supported by MNC Sekuritas, SGU team, who was represented by Pandu Megananda (Accounting study program), Calvin Fitra Anggara (Industrial Engineering study program), and Christian A. Piolo (Industrial Engineering study program), won the 2nd place in the Stock Analysis Competition. They obtained 162 points and came out as the 2nd winner out of 24 universities participating during the competition including Universitas Bina Nusantara, Universitas Prasetiya Mulia, Perbanas Institute, IPMI, and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara.

This annual event is conducted as part of “Galeri Investasi Bursa Efek Indonesia – Universitas Bunda Mulia – MNC Sekuritas” 5th anniversary celebration. The stock analysis competition this year comes with theme:  “Seize The Moment and Be Young Investors” involved 64 teams from 24 Universities in Indonesia. Each team did analysis and the results were presented to the judged consists of Vice Rector for Academic Affair of Universitas Bunda Mulia: Kandi Sofia Senastri Dahlan; Chief of “Asosiasi Analis Efek Indonesia (AAEI)” also Head of Research Retail “MNC Sekuritas”: Edwin Sebayang, and Ketua II of development division of “Asosiasi Analis Efek Indonesia (AAEI)” also analyst of MNC Sekuritas: Tomy Zulfikar.

Pandu, Calvin, and Christian made a 20-page stock analysis of a state-owned enterprise, PT Wijaya Karya, Tbk (WIKA). They made a valuation model for WIKA in order to find out whether the WIKA’s stock price is arguably cheap or expensive relative to the intrinsic value. They also combined several concepts to make a fairly complex and comprehensive model.
