Strengthening Tourism: SGU’s LPPM and MASATA Collaborate for South Tangerang’s Tourism Development

Saturday, November 18, 2023 – In a significant move to boost tourism development, the Swiss German University’s Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) and the South Tangerang Aware Tourism Society (MASATA) DPC Tangerang Selatan officially sealed their collaboration on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The signing ceremony marked the beginning of a strategic partnership focusing on research and the advancement of tourism, particularly in South Tangerang.

Mr. Heru Sudarmanto, the Head of the South Tangerang Tourism Office, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the critical importance of collective support from various stakeholders, including the private sector, education, media, and the government. He underscored the collaborative efforts needed to build and enhance the tourism sector in South Tangerang. The South Tangerang City Government expressed full support for MASATA’s initiatives, showcasing readiness for collaborative endeavors in tourism development.

Ms. Nila K Hidayat, Chairperson of MASATA DPC Tangerang Selatan and Vice Rector 2 Non-Academic at SGU, highlighted the need for a collaborative platform to advance tourism in South Tangerang. Recognizing the untapped potential of numerous tourist destinations in Tangsel, she expressed MASATA’s commitment to assisting and supporting the South Tangerang City Government in promoting tourism in the Tangsel region. Ms. Hidayat stressed the importance of collaboration with higher education institutions like SGU, tapping into the wealth of expertise at the university level to provide diverse insights and contributions to the enhancement of the local tourism landscape.
