Supporting Indonesian Young Generation, Swiss German University Becomes a Place for the Development of Creativity in the Field of Robotics and Mechatronic.
Mechatronics Day is an annual event organized by the Mechatronics department from Swiss German University. This event aims to make every young generation in Indonesia, from high school student or university to be aware that there are still many technologies in the world that are not yet known to Indonesian citizens.
There are two competitions in this event, including:
FFR – Fire Fighter Robot Competition
FFR Competition stands for Fire Fighter Robot Competition. This activity was designed as a combination of workshops and competitions to make robots. The type of robot that is competed in Mechatronics Day 5.0 / 2019 is a simple Fire Fighter robot that can find the location of the fire, avoid collisions with walls, pass obstacles and finally put out fires.
LRC – Logistic Robot Competition
Logistics Robot Competition is a competition branch of the Mechatronics Day 5.0 / 2019 aimed at students from tertiary institutions. This competition is the result of cooperation between SGU and FESTO where the machinery used is the technology provided by FESTO. Logistics Robot itself is a robot for moving goods automatically from a place to a designated destination.
In supporting the development of technology in Indonesia, SGU through Mechatronic Day also presents a series of events that can broaden participants’ insights on Mechatronic knowledge. Among them is presenting several technological innovations that have been assembled by SGU students and interspersed with robotic seminars.
Mechatronic Day, which is held every year, has a mission, among others, to be a place for young people in Indonesia to develop ideas and creativity in the field of robotics and mechatronics.
This event will held on November 8-10, 2019, that is located in Living World, South Tangerang. As the first international university in Indonesia, through this event it is hoped that it can become a means of proving itself to young Indonesians before entering the professional world, as well as strengthening relations between Swiss German University and high schools in Indonesia.
