SGU Partners with AFTECH to Boost Fintech Innovation and Financial Literacy

Swiss German University (SGU) held the “INFINITY” event on Friday, December 6, 2024, to celebrate the signing of a partnership with the Indonesia Fintech Association (AFTECH). The event was not just about the formal signing of the MoU, but also served as an opportunity to introduce fintech products and services in Indonesia and improve financial literacy among SGU students and all attendees.

The event began with opening remarks from Dr. Nila Krisnawati Hidayat, S.E., M.M., Dean of SGU’s Faculty of Business and Communication, who emphasized the importance of partnerships in equipping students for the fast-paced digital economy. Aries Setiadi, Executive Director of AFTECH, also shared his excitement about the collaboration and its potential to connect academia with the fintech industry. The MoU signing marked a key moment, symbolizing the start of their shared mission to bring innovation and knowledge in fintech to students and the wider community.

A key highlight of the event was a talk show titled “Tak Kenal, Maka Tak Sadar: Mengenal Ragam Produk dan Layanan Fintech di Indonesia, Bersama jadi #SiPalingFintech”. Moderated by Yunita Sulaiman from AFTECH, the session featured industry experts such as Abynprima Rizki, Endang Sunarti, Ariyanto Dipo Sucahyo, and Yonathan Gautama. The panel discussed the wide variety of fintech products and services in Indonesia and how they can help people and businesses manage their finances better.

To make the event more interactive, participants also joined a Kahoot! Quiz, which added a fun way to learn and reinforce the key points from the talk show.

The partnership between SGU and AFTECH will focus on four main areas:

  1. Education: Activities such as public lectures, internships, curriculum development, and professional certifications to help students become ready for the future.
  2. Scientific Research: Collaborative research to advance knowledge and technology.
  3. Community Service: Programs designed to benefit society.
  4. Other Joint Activities: Any other initiatives that align with the goals of both institutions.

Through this collaboration, SGU is committed to giving its students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital world. The partnership with AFTECH, Indonesia’s leading fintech association, marks an exciting opportunity to promote innovation and financial literacy that will benefit students and the broader community.
