Dr. Tanika D. Sofianti is an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at Swiss German University, Indonesia, renowned for her specialization in “Industry 4.0 oriented” Industrial Engineering. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Pancasila University, Indonesia, and both a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering from the prestigious Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. Her doctoral research, supported by a scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education, Indonesia, took her to Waseda University in Tokyo in 2010, where she conducted her research on the “Measurement of Knowledge Management Performance.”

Her collaborative efforts with research teams have led to substantial performance improvements for prominent multinational companies through the application of LEAN methodologies, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and knowledge management. In her recent endeavours, Dr. Sofianti has been actively involved in developing cutting-edge learning modules for engineering analytics and immersive technologies, supported by PKKM grants from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia).

Beyond her academic role, Dr. Sofianti serves as a member of the Board of Digital
Transformation of Indonesia and the Person in Charge (PIC) at Swiss German University for the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (BPSDMI – Kemenperin). Dr. Sofianti has been involved in several program of the Indonesia Ministry of Industry programs, by serving as a speaker, program assessor, competition judge, and a key figure in research and development activities.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Dr. Sofianti was honored with the “Woman in Industry and Academia Award” in 2022 by the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) International Society. She also holds the “Big Data Analyst with TÜV Rheinland Certified Qualification” since 2023.

Dr. Sofianti’s career is marked by her dedication to advancing industrial engineering through innovative research, industry collaboration, and the development of future engineering leaders

Biography:

Biography: Tanika D Sofianti, Graduated from the Bachelor Program in Electrical Engineering at Pancasila University, Jakarta, Indonesia in 1997. She earned a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB, Bandung, Indonesia) in 2002. In 2013, Tanika successfully completed her research on “Knowledge”. Management in B2B Relationship” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi (Rector of ITB 2016-2020, now Chancellor of the Trisakti Union), Prof. Dr. Ir. Rajesri Govindaraju and Dr. Ir. Budhi Prihartono, and holds a Doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB, Bandung, Indonesia).

As a doctoral student, Tanika had the opportunity to receive grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, Indonesia in 2010 to participate in the Sandwich-like program and conduct a three-month research visit at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan under supervision of Prof. Emeritus. Dr. engg. Hiroshi Katayama.

Tanika has taught at Swiss German University since 2007.

With the increasing need to improve the performance of future of workforce that was impacted by outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic and digital transformation, Tanika is more focused on developing methods and tools for Engineering Analytics for Improving Industry Performance, upskilling and re skilling for Future of workforce and the use of Industry 4.0 key technologies for system performance improvement. The object of research interest of Tanika is the Product Service System which is the core business of many companies in Indonesia.

Recently, Tanika has obtained Woman in Industry and Academia Award, from The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) International Society in 2022

In addition to teaching at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at SGU for both undergraduate and master programs, Tanika is also involved in several studies conducted with the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, including studies on HR competencies development to welcome the Industry 4.0 and circular economy era.

  • As the need to improve the performance of remote teams and remote workers has been increasing since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic, Tanika enhances research and studies on the development of methods and devices for Remote Working. The main object of research that is of interest to Tanika is the Product Service System at B2B level which is the core business of many companies in Indonesia.
