Tangerang, March 22 2024

Regarding the widespread news about human trafficking under the guise of internship programs which is detrimental to many students from various Indonesian universities in Germany, Swiss German University (SGU) has confirmed not to be involved in it.

Swiss German University officially runs an international joint degree program and is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

In its implementation, Swiss German University collaborates directly with various state universities in Germany. Swiss German University never uses any intermediaries in establishing collaborations.

“I can assure you here that the program run by SGU is an international joint degree education program, where SGU students have the opportunity to study at our partner universities in Germany and then continue with internships in industries related to their studies, not just for internships working at any job. SGU also directly collaborates with various state universities in Germany and does not use the services of intermediary agents. “All SGU students currently in Germany are registered as students at partner universities in Germany and have study visas, not internship visas,” explained Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, Rector of Swiss German University.

This first international university in Indonesia not only collaborates on joint degrees with universities in Germany, but also universities in Switzerland and South Korea.

University partners for SGU’s international joint degree program in Germany include Southwestphalia University of Applied Sciences and EAH Jena University of Applied Sciences. Meanwhile, the university partner in Switzerland is the International Management Institute, Switzerland, and in South Korea is Solbridge International School of Business Woosong University.

There are 16 undergraduate study program concentrations in the fields of life sciences and technology, engineering, IT, business and communications that can be studied at SGU. After graduating from the joint degree program, students will receive a bachelor’s degree from the partner university abroad.
