Swiss German University Launches Business Accounting Program for Career-Ready Graduates
Saturday, December 2, 2023 – Swiss German University (SGU) proudly announced the launch of its new Business Accounting program, replacing the previous Accounting and Data Analysis program. This strategic move is essential to ensure that SGU’s accounting students receive education relevant to the evolving demands of the job market and industry.
The launch of the Business Accounting program was accompanied by a talk show titled “Peluang dan Tantangan Dunia Akuntansi dalam Mempersiapkan Jenjang Karir yang Sukses”. The talk show aimed to provide in-depth insights to prospective students and the public regarding the latest developments in the field of accounting. It also explored the opportunities and challenges they might face upon entering the professional world.
The talk show featured industry speakers such as Mr. Pantjoro Kurniawan, VP Accounting & Finance at PT KAO Indonesia, who shared their experiences and insights. Mr. Nurdayadi, the Head of the Business Accounting program, and SGU alumna Verren Hermawan also participated. The Business Accounting program at SGU is designed to provide students with a profound understanding of business accounting, preparing them for challenges in today’s dynamic business landscape. With an up-to-date curriculum and a focus on practical applications, the program aims to produce graduates ready to make a mark in the accounting field.
Yosman Bustaman, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication at SGU, emphasized that this new program aligns with the current MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) initiative by the government. Students not only learn on campus with quality SGU faculty but also interact extensively with industry executives through practitioner-led teaching. Close ties with the industry are further fostered through a two-semester internship program, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the workforce upon graduation. Additionally, students will be equipped with various tools to enhance their competencies, including the use of accounting information system software such as SAP, Accurate, and auditing software. Furthermore, students will receive competency certifications gradually throughout the program.
With the launch of this new program, SGU hopes that its Business Accounting students will be more competitive in the job market. They will be well-prepared with direct industry experience and interaction with corporate executives, ensuring they are ready to excel in their careers. (Vid/DM)
